Successful Business Case: Boomix & Boomerang

We worked together with GOT.VERTIGO, a talented web design company, to develop Boomix(http://www.boomixla.com/). Boomix is a fun and exciting web application for the Boomerang Channel (Turner Broadcasting).

Boomix is a multi language application which allows Latin America communities to create multimedia albums in a dynamic and interactive way.

Here are some things you can do with Boomix:

  • Add and remove friends
  • Create albums with multimedia content (videos, images, text and audio) with an easy and straightforward interface
  • Create customized user avatars
  • Share, vote and post comments in albums between friends
  • Experience featured albums
  • Easily see recent activities from users in real time
  • Integrate multimedia albums with other social networks like Facebook, Flickr and YouTube
  • Tag albums in order to easily search albums using a tag cloud
  • Add albums as favorites in users' profiles
  • Report offensive users, albums and comments
  • Search albums by creator, album name and tags
  • Visualize Boomerang Channel Schedule in real time

Boomix allows an administrator to moderate all the web content. Furthermore the administrator interface provides really useful statistics about users, albums and comments.

We built this web application using the following technologies: Java, Sun One Server, Struts, Hibernate frameworks, Oracle, HTML, Javascript, AJAX, Flash and Flex.

Aycron focused on the backend development (Java – Oracle – Sun One Server) and worked together with GOT.VERTIGO to integrate the frontend (Flex Flash - HTML)
